Celebrant – Stephanie Milne

storyboard002Q: What is the best part about being a wedding celebrant?

It is such a pleasure and a privilege to be involved in the most important day in a couples married life. Helping couples to create the perfect wedding memory, which is the quintessential representation of their relationship, makes being a celebrant the most rewarding and best profession I could choose.

Q: Why do you think you are so popular with couples who wish to marry in Port Douglas?

A celebrant should be someone you feel you can talk to, relate to and someone, who understands your needs. They should be flexible, reliable and relaxed.

Many couples tell me that they find me to be a calming influence on their preparations and their day. I always aim to put couples at ease about their wedding and do my best to alleviate any worry or stress they may have.

I have been told, I am easy talk to and I relate to people easily, I believe that the preparation for the wedding should be as enjoyable as the actual day and I make it my aim to assist couples in any way I can. I like to think I go the extra mile wherever I can and I always make sure I have more than enough time for every couple I work with, which makes them feel like they are special and my priority.

Q: How long have you been a celebrant and how many weddings have you officiated?

I have been a celebrant for 6 years and have officiated at over 200 unique and beautiful weddings. I hope to continue being a celebrant for many years to come. Designing and writing ceremonies that are always fresh, unique and perfect for each couple I work with.

Q: What do you love the most about weddings in the Port Douglas region?

The Port Douglas region is so beautiful, it has so many unique locations and venues, which make each wedding completely wonderful; from the isolated adventurous locations within the Daintree Rainforest or the coral reefs out on the Great Barrier Reef; to the luxurious tropical retreats or beautiful chapels. The diversity of choice in this region is enormous. Then when you add in the wonderful tropical climate and I believe that makes the ideal combination for a destination wedding.

Q: Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by so many things, life itself is so inspiring. Peoples unending capacity for love always amazes and inspires me. The words of great literary wordsmiths, such as Ackerman, Shelley and Wordsworth are truly inspiring. As a life long artist, I am inspired by many of the worlds great artists, such as Klimt and Monet. Living here in Port Douglas, I am continually inspired by the incredible beauty of the region, the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

Q: What advice can you give to couples on their wedding day

Your wedding is a representation of your love and your relationship. Imagine the memory, you want to look back on in twenty years, when you think of your perfect wedding moment. Hold on to that thought when you are planning your wedding and aim to enjoy the process, the memories of the planning will all contribute to how you enjoy the actual day.

Surround yourself with positive influences and choose a celebrant who is flexible and reliable, someone who is enthusiastic to your ceremony choices and has your best interests at heart.
