Why do you think Port Douglas is the best location for a wedding?
Apart from the obvious aesthetics (beaches, reef, rainforest, amazing restaurants, gorgeous seaside village), Port Douglas is a wonderful location for a destination wedding because there are so many highly professional, fun, experienced wedding suppliers to choose from.
What is the best part about being a wedding celebrant?
There are so many great things…perhaps the best is that I get to spend time with a couple on the happiest day of their lives and I contribute to that happiness!
Why do you think you are so popular with couples who wish to marry in Port Douglas?
I think when couples do their research they are looking for a Celebrant who is friendly, relaxed, approachable and flexible. The best wedding ceremonies are those where the couple engage with their celebrant months before their wedding day.
How many weddings have you officiated?
850 weddings and counting…that’s a lot of happy couples!
What do you love the most about weddings in the Port Douglas region?
The diversification of the area and the sheer number of locations where people can be married ensures that you never get bored! And for most of the year the weather is sublime!
Who or what inspires you?
Seeing the happiness on the faces of the bride, groom and all their guests ensures I always want to put in 150% percent and be the best I can be.
What advice can you give to couples on their wedding day?
Don’t sweat the small stuff and put your energy and focus into what really matters.
Communicate with each other and work together!
Learn to compromise if you must!
The couple that plans together stays together!
Have a to-do-list for your to-do-lists!
Being organised well ahead of schedule is the best stress-reliever!
During the ceremony, always remember that it is okay to make mistakes and that it is far better to shed a few tears and laugh out loud than to look like a robot!
